Ignore the unhappy reviews…it does what it’s supposed to do, but you need to be aware of a few things. After I read some of the negative and highly critical reviews posted on Amazon.com, I must confess that I was a bit apprehensive purchasing the Jensen VX7020 “infotainment” system for my 2007 Ford Focus.

Answers to reported problems. I am the owner of Apex Automotive and also a master certified installer. I wanted to clear up some of the reported problems with this unit as I have installed over a dozen with zero issues. First off I saw that a few reviews stated that the back up camera will not come on automatically, this is not the case. The positive signal of the back up light needs to be connected to the reverse input on the Jensen and it will quickly display the view of you back up camera. Second I saw a few users reporting various issues with the navigation, those users that explained how the mounted the gps antenna it was clear to me that their chosen location was the problem. The gps antenna needs to be mounted with a clear line of sight to the sky. If it’s mounted under any panels or if there is anything between it and the sky you will have issues. Third I saw several instances of complaint in regards to the quality of the supplied microphone. If the mic is not mounted at or just above head level it will be…

Bad Head Unit! Recieved a defective until which for a customer sucks because once you pay a installer for a work order to intall a unit and it’s defective you only have 2 choices pay for one of their units or just have them pull the dang broke unit out. Either way you are out of $$$$, time, and what you were looking for in the first place which is the original setup you paid for. Yes doing a return gets most of your money back but doesn’t account for the lost of funds fixing the issue. Especially when it takes about 2 weeks to just get setup for an appointment. Won’t be buying any more Jensen units!
